Bought a sofa - whoever I spoke to on the phone was so patient and helpful. Helped provide measurements over the phone, checked that the legs came off, and generally reassured me that I'd done my due diligence. So nice to think it's all going to a good cause too.
Good selection of old furniture, typically from the mid 20thC. Reception staff are nice, but the porters seem a tad grumpy. They could probably do with some customer service training.
Parking is to the right of the building, the larger car park on the left is managed by some private company and you will be charged the earth.
The staff excel in their helpfulness. They offer a fair price for delivery to EH postcodes. Wide range of stock.
Fab charity store for buying second hand furniture especially in current times, The charity also support vulnerable young people helping to set them up in a safe environment. All stuff for sale is checked and is in a very good condition. Prices are very fair. There is Disabled parking as well as ordinary parking available. They also deliver to your home at a fair price. 👍
The best place for a bargain; mainly furniture, but there are also books, CDs, crockery, cutlery and glassware. Delivery is available for £20-30 as well, which is a bargain compared to big companies. Highly recommended. Staff are a delight as well.
EFI is back open and a fantastic place to buy furniture, purchase other household essentials, or just browse for an afternoon. The staff are super helpful and the prices reasonable. As others have said, you sometimes will find some real gems. They do deliver within Edinburgh and the surrounding area. It's also important to remember they are a charity who support people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, so it's all for a good cause.
They are taking donations and doing uplift at the time of writing this. Some reviewers have commented that they don't take certain items which is understandable. They have to be able to resell them and they can't legally sell fabric without a fire tag.
The concept behind EFI is great. Staff are lovely and good mix of furniture..BUT...what's with the prices??? Sooooo expensive. Who is pricing the items? I went several times recently as I was looking for a new sofa and like to recycle & support charities but EFI prices were higher than brand new sofas online and in many shops. BHF Dalry road are much more in tune and reasonable.
This is one of my favourite charity shops. It has a massive range of items. I got coffee tables, ornaments, all sorts of items. Love them all. Very great pricing and they have deliveries too. I didn't get the chance to visit recently and I really want to. There is always a hidden gem.
